Bridal Prep at The Lodge
The day began in the peaceful surroundings of The Lodge at Mere Court, where Rachel got ready with her bridesmaids. As an air hostess for EasyJet, Rachel is no stranger to early starts and glamorous looks – and she looked absolutely stunning in her dress, cool and calm as ever despite the summer heat.
Meanwhile, Nick was getting ready with his groomsmen. His brother who later delivered one of the funniest wedding speeches I’ve heard, full of stories that had the whole room in stitches. It’s clear these two have a strong bond, and it was such a joy to photograph those candid moments between them.
A Hint of Rain, But Spirits Stayed High
Although the weather was mostly warm and sunny, we had a few cheeky rain showers throughout the day. But honestly, it didn’t dampen anyone’s mood. In fact, the brief showers gave us some lovely soft light and an excuse for guests to huddle together under umbrellas perfect for natural, documentary-style photos.
Light Pink Details & Garden Games
The ceremony and reception rooms were styled with soft light pink décor, creating a calm and romantic feel throughout. It matched the relaxed vibe of the day beautifully. After the ceremony, guests spilled out onto the lawn to enjoy drinks and garden games, from giant Jenga to lawn bowls. It was exactly the kind of chilled-out summer wedding that makes you want to kick off your shoes and join in.
A Touch of Manchester City
Of course, it wouldn’t be Nick’s wedding without a nod to his beloved Manchester City. While there weren’t sky-blue suits or football-themed centrepieces (thankfully!), you could definitely spot the pride in his smile every time someone brought it up in conversation. Safe to say, the Blues had a loyal fan in the groom that day!
